The series

Each season, a group of suburban teens trades screens for the backwoods. Under the guidance of a priest who hunts, a cage fighter and a former general, they learn to track, shoot, endure and face their fears together. They arrive as boys. They go home knowing what they're made of.

Why we're making it

This is Fr. Mitch Pacwa. Priest, EWTN personality, theologian. Less known: he hunts boars with a knife.

Fr. Mitch was my confirmation sponsor and my mentor into manhood. After my first hunt, he anointed me with stag blood while we butchered our prize.

Anthony after his first hunt, anointed with stag blood

In that moment I understood something: in a world starving for real masculinity, Fr. Mitch was modeling the priesthood young men actually need, and I was being handed a rite of passage that suburban men everywhere are quietly starving for.

We plan to scale that rite of passage to the whole world through Young Buck.
